When you come to Germany you are required to have health insurance. Visiting a medical doctor, paying for medicine or staying in a hospital can be very expensive. Medical costs in Germany are among the highest in the world. If you come to Germany on a visa you must show proof of a travel medical insurance for the length of your stay.
