DSH

Language Test for University Studies in Germany

The DSH-test is one of the recognized language proficiency tests for admission to a German university. It consists of a written and an oral test. The written part of the test includes listening comprehension, reading comprehension, text production and the understanding and working on academic language texts. The examination tasks follow the regulatory framework valid for all of Germany but are individually designed by the different universities.

The DSH test can only be taken on site at a German university. Normally it is conducted a few weeks before the beginning of the semester. The DSH is deemed to have been passed when in both parts of the test at least two thirds of the requirements have been fulfilled.

More details about the DSH test including the test dates and prices can be obtained from the international office (Akademischen Auslandsamt)  of the respective university or under www.dsh-termin.de.
